DAN FOGELBERG lives in the wild country of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains region. DAN FOGELBERG chose to live in a remote rural setting because he feels comfortable living as far as possible from the fast pace of life in the entertainment capitals of New York City or Los Angeles.

“I have been trying to live further and further away from cities and live my life in a way that is harmonious with nature,”Dan Fogelberg said during an interview. “I’ve always been pretty much a hermit. I feel more comfortable when I’m not around people all of the time. Living in the wilds of Colorado and the woodlands of rural northern Maine provided inspiration for his latest album titled,”The Wild Places”.

The singer/songwriter’s work on “The Wild Places” reveals DAN FOGELBERG’s love of the natural world and his devotion to preserving nature against environmental degradation.

“The quest for any artist is to discover the truth and if that quest for truth involves trying to open some people’s eyes to the great myriad of environmental problems, then I hope I’m not alone in doing it,”Dan Fogelberg said. Fogelberg’s rural lifestyle has kept him out of the world many recording artists’ inhabit within mainstream Hollywood and he’s happy to remain that way. “The way I live is opposed to any type of rock and roll lifestyle,”Dan Fogelberg said. “I organic garden and raise animals on my land. Since I live far away in the mountains, I’ve avoided most of the trappings the Hollywood scene.”

Dan Fogelberg has been active in conservation and environmental planning for nearly all of his life.

“There’s been a personal effort for me to find a lifestyle that’s harmonious with nature since my childhood days.”he said. DAN FOGELBERG welcomes the recent support the Hollywood community has given to environmental causes however, he’s quick to point out that celebrities who are jumping on the bandwagon for some free press will be exposed for their true intentions in due time. “If this is just a trend for some celebrities in the Hollywood community then after the trend is over the people in it for the publicity will fall by the wayside,”DAN FOGELBERG said. “After the trend is over the people who have been working all along, like Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt will still be working for environmental causes.” The rural lifestyle DAN FOGELBERG enjoys has inspired him to give his time and effort for the Native Americans and their traditional way of life that has always honored the earth.

On a track off of,”The Wild Places”, entitled,”The Spirit Trail”, the music and lyrics show DAN FOGELBERG’S tribute to the Native Americans and their devotion of the earth.

“I’ve been doing a lot of benefit’s for the Native American’s,”DAN FOGELBERG said. “I feel that we should try to help the Native Americans more than we currently do. I’ve many Native American friends and I think the way to help them is on a human level. Since I live in an area where there are many Native Americans I’m probably more aware of their problems than somebody living in a big city”
